Event Description

November 30th the First Congregational Church on Western Avenue in West Brattleboro will be holding its 55th annual Holiday Bazaar. This church was one of the first in the area to begin the practice of offering items made by members of the congregation to help fund special projects.

The sale has grown over the years and now utilizes the Fireplace Room in the upper level to sell wreaths, greens, decorations and ornaments for the tree and home. While the basements larger area is devoted to many separate areas; the General Store where one can find candy, pickles, and preserves, jellies and jams as well as items for pets, gift baskets and other special treasures. There is an area devoted to handiwork such as hats, mittens, gloves, scarves, sweaters, baby blankets as well as cross stitch pieces and pillows. One must come to see the wide selection of 18” and 15” doll clothes and accessories.

The 16 item raffle will have many hand made items as well as restaurant, grocery and gas cards with tickets only $2 each or 6 for $10. This includes the queen size quilt made by members of the church.

And we must not forget the baked goods and other treats available at the food table. Come hungry to enjoy our famous corn chowder and a selection of sandwiches for lunch. Doors open at 8:30 am.
