Rescue Mission of Rome receives last-minute donation

(WKTV) - The Rescue Mission of Rome received a last-minute donation Tuesday that will help serve more local families a holiday meal.

The mission received a check for $250 from the Rome Independence Party. 

Party Chairman Jim Brown and County Chairman Ed Zeina presented the check. The Rome Rescue Mission Executive Director Matt Miller says the contribution will go a long way for those in need.

This year, the mission has provided 410 food baskets, which will feed about 1,559 people. Last year, the mission provided 250 baskets.

The Rome Rescue Mission Breakfast Buffet is at 10 a.m. Service and dinner starts at 1:30 p.m. The Rescue Mission is located at East Dominick Street in Rome.
