(WKTV) - The Rescue Mission of Utica is gearing up to serve hundreds of meals tomorrow and volunteers are busy behind the scenes Wednesday to make sure the feast goes off without a hitch.
The community has helped make the meal happen, including one woman who baked 30 dozen homemade rolls and a donation of 274 pies from the Whitesboro School District.
"We have volunteers helping right now that are prepping for tomorrow and we have a lot who will be here tomorrow for Thanksgiving," said Ernie Talerico, director of operations for the mission. "The community has been great in responding to the volunteer needs we have."
Food is not all that's need, as clothing is also requested. If you'd like to donate clothing, food or money to the mission, you can visit uticarescuemission.org.
If you are a shut-in and need a meal delivered Thursday, call (315) 735-1645 Ext. 100 on Wednesday or Ext. 130 on Thursday.
