St. Elizabeth Medical Center packing food baskets for families in need

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Hundreds of families will have food on the table this year thanks to the St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

It's the 35th Annual Operation Share Thanksgiving - baskets of food were packed and distributed to families in the area Monday afternoon.

Organizers say they find out who needs food for the holiday through local churches and the United Way. More than 300 baskets were distributed this year.

"The need is here and it is growing," said St. Elizabeth Medical Center CEO Rick Ketchum. "We have over 325 baskets this year. There are so many people in the community that need help and we're just glad to be a part of that."

While the St. Elizabeth Medical Center organizes Operation Share and the two major sponsors are Mohawk Imaging and Chanatry's Supermarket.
