Generosity of local aerospace employees brings early holidays to kids in need

WHITESBORO, N.Y. (WKTV) - TECT, the former Utica Corporation, traded its aerospace equipment in for some Hot Wheels, Barbies and robots on Monday.

Each year, TECT employees buy toys for children in need, and this year, they decided to take that generosity one step further and invite an entire class into the workplace.

Second graders from General Herkimer were treated to a hands-on day learning about the aerospace industry and got some great gifts as well.

"Our employees all bought gifts for them and we bought them all new jackets," said Human Resources Manager Donna Prentice. "It's just our way of giving back to the community."

Just when the kids thought it couldn't get any better, it did, when Santa Claus and his elves stopped in for a special visit.
