Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade^® Clowns Earn Their Red Noses At The Big Apple Circus

Clowns In Training Are Set To Enroll In Macy's Clown U. On Saturday, Nov. 13

New York, NY – November 1, 2010 – Silliness abounds as the clowns in the 84^th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade^® get ready to step into those oversized shoes. On Thanksgiving Day, more than 800 Macy's volunteers will take up the task of entertaining millions of people who will line the streets of New York City for the big Parade. It's a crazy job, but these clowns are up to the challenge.

As the spectacle's ambassadors of fun, Macy's clowns are the only element of the Parade procession that interact with spectators, which makes their hilarious hijinks serious business. To learn what it takes, these whacky trainees get a crash course in clowning around from the resident experts – the stars of the Big Apple Circus!

Come one, come all – the clowns are reporting for duty! On Saturday, Nov. 13, Macy's employees and volunteers will earn their red noses at Macy's Clown U. where the connoisseurs of comedy from the Big Apple Circus will school them in the art of clown code. This zany tutorial is a yearly tradition, but for the first time ever, it will take place under the big-top at the Big Apple's Circus. Grab your cotton candy, this is sure to be a show!

After receiving their diplomas in sidesplitting shenanigans, the riotous group will arrive on Parade morning at 6 a.m. sharp and don their hilarious get-ups for the thrill of a lifetime. Finally set to put their silly skills to good use in the annual holiday tradition, the clowns will join 25 different troupes, before they ride uptown on the funny bus to gather at Clown Corner. This wacky sidewalk is the place to be for those with a wish and a dream of bringing laughter and smiles to millions. At the call of Let's Have a Parade™, the clowns will begin their starring role in the holiday extravaganza.
