Toys unstuffed after Stuff The Bus

ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - The busses we all spent so much time stuffing were unstuffed today!

Thousand of toys were divided and distributed at the Birnie Bus Garage in Rome.

The toys were collected through the Stuff The Bus effort over the past five weeks.

Dozens of volunteers were helping to distribute the toys.

Catholic Charities is one of the organizations on the receiving end of this effort. They helped out around 350 families last year and hope to help even more this season. Denise Cavanaugh said, "The families that we're finding this year even more than other years, even with both parents working or being underemployed or unemployed that many of them are families that have been able to have Christmases in the past and this year they just can't do it they're paying heating bills they are paying medical bills this allows them to enjoy this holiday season with their kids it's all about the kids."

All of the toys collected will stay right here in the area.

Stuff The Bus is a collaborative effort between Birnie Bus, Roser Communications and NEWSChannel 2.
