Utica church and State Police in Herkimer give toys to ARC

UTICA and HERKIMER, N.Y. - On December 22, the Most Rev. Stephen J. Enea, Archbishop of the Italo-Greek Orthodox Church, whose parish, the Cathedral of the Theotokos of Great Grace in Utica and New York State Troopers from Troop D in Herkimer delivered presents to children who receive services at Madison Cortland ARC as part of their Toys for Children initiative that the church has organized since 1997.

“We wanted to do something truly special for organizations like ARC who give so much to the community,” says Father Stephen.

“These are difficult times for many of the families we serve at Madison Cortland ARC,” says Raymond Lewandowski, Executive Director of Madison Cortland ARC, “The generosity of Father Stephen and the New York State Troopers, reflects the true meaning of the season. We thank them from the bottom of our hearts for all that they do.”

This year, Father Stephen would like to thank the following Utica-area businesses for their donations of toys and cash to the Toys for Children program: Ambrose Electric, Café Caruso, Eannace Funeral Home, Imagestone Groundscaping, Symeon’s, Dollar Tree, FedEx Office, U-Haul, Walmart, First Source Federal Credit Union, Mohawk Valley Federal Credit Union, Deerfield Volunteer Fire Dept., New York State Police, Sons of Italy and Smith Barney.
