Utica Fire Academy graduates sixteen

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Some of New York State's newest firefighters have the City of Utica to thank for their titles. A graduation ceremony was held for 16 men who just completed a 14-week firefighting course.

The ceremony was held at the Masonic Care Community Wednesday. Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente, District Attorney Scott McNamara and other local dignitaries were in attendance along with family members of the new graduates.

Central New York has some local graduates to congratulate. Brian Midlam of the Oriskany Fire Department, Travis Maurine and Rocco Piccione both of the Utica Fire Department will all serve locally.
