Saranac Prohibition Party raises money for St. E's

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - For the second straight year, Saint Elizabeth Medical Center and the F.X. Matt Brewery teamed up to provide a night of fun with proceeds going to a good cause.

While last year may have been the first Prohibition Party, this year was the biggest. About 500 people attended the festivities Friday night, compared to 300 last year.

While last year's event raised $16,000 for the Saint Elizabeth Foundation, this year, organizers expect to bring in $20,000.

Along with the signature Utica Club, Saranac Beer and Root Beer, there was food, a silent auction, and live entertainment.

The F.X. Matt Brewery was the first to sell beer once prohibition was reversed. The beer was of course, Utica Club.
