Bowlers come out to help House of the Good Shepherd

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Bowlers from around the area came out Friday night to throw strikes and spares to support children at the House of the Good Shepherd. The second annual Children's Future Bowl A Thon took place at AMF Pin-O-Rama Lanes.

Last year, the bowl-a-thon generated over $3,000. All of the proceeds went to the children at the House of the Good Shepherd.

One organizer knows first-hand how the proceeds from this event can make a difference. Howard Potter, owner of A&P Master Images who sponsored the event said, "basically the House of the Good Shepherd takes in kids who were abused or neglected, or having troubles in life they basically can turn their lives around. I grew up there it helped me turn my life around."

With money from the event, duffel bags are replacing garbage bags the children were using to transport their clothing.
