Fire Prevention Week kicks off with a BBQ

By SPENCER DAVIDSON

WHITESBORO, N.Y. (WKTV) - Fire Fighters kicked off the start of Fire Prevention Week, by holding a Barbecue in Whitesboro, Sunday.

The event was aimed at teaching kids about how to prevent kitchen fires, all while having a good time doing it.

There was supposed to be a parade to go along with the barbecue, but it was cancelled due to the weather.

As Fire Prevention Week continues, Yorkville, New York Mills, and Whitesboro Fire Departments will join forces Friday to visit local elementary schools.
