(WKTV) - Jamie Fader, assistant professor at the School of Criminal Justice at the University of Albany, SUNY, will present a lecture titled "Falling Back: Incarceration and Transitions to Adulthood among Urban Youth" at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Fillius Events Barn at Hamilton College.
The lecture is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by the Arthur Levitt Public Affair Center.
Fader joined the faculty of the School of Criminal Justice in 2008. She is the author of "Falling Back: Incarceration and Transitions to Adulthood among Urban Youth," which she based on more than three years of ethnographic research with black and Latino males on the cusp of adulthood and incarcerated at a rural reform school designed to address "criminal thinking errors."
Fader observed the young men as they transitioned back to their urban Philadelphia neighborhoods, resuming their daily lives to adopt masculine roles.
