Indoor heart walk held at Sangertown Square Mall

NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (WKTV) - While the skies overheard were dreary on Thursday, that didn't stop the kick-off of America's Greatest Heart Run and Walk weekend.

The precursors to the big event bring in close to $10,000 themselves for the American Heart Association.

On Thursday morning, walkers who can't or don't want to brave the weather on Saturday took to the halls of Sangertown Square Mall in New Hartford. The event also serves as a push to register for the big walk and get participants in the mood.

"It's a party time, just like it is up at the college, but not as big," said Rose Butler, Chairperson of the Ten of Hearts drawing.
