Local band could play at Grammy Awards with your help

VERNON, N.Y. (WKTV) - A local band is getting closer to playing at one of the biggest music awards shows in the country, but need a little help on their journey.

The band, Pacinello (pronounced 'pay-sih-nello'), whose four members live in Vernon, have been nominated as part of a contest to entertain at the Grammy Awards in Febuary, but the only way they can play is by earning the number one spot in a nationwide vote.

Currently, they are ranked 29th out of 1,500 bands.

"We are just so proud we have made it this far and whatever happens, happens," said band member Molly D'Agostino. "Just to make it as far as we have, we are ecstatic. Just ecstatic."

The contest continues through January 17.
