Local minister/musician holds launch party for debut album

ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - A local musician celebrated the release of his very first album on Saturday night with a launch party at the First Tabernacle Church in the City of Rome.

Gabriel Day, 26, is a minister at the church and says he has been involved with music his entire life. is 26 years old.

While some people call his style "christian rap," Day says he doesn't like to put it into a category. He says he is just a Christian who happens to rap.

His debut album, "the Message," has been a year and a half in the making.

"I'm really excited," Day said "I just really hope that the music is something that will change people's lives. I think if people grab on to the music and with a little bit of faith, I think that this album could change people's lives."

The album was available at the party for $10, but Day says it can also be found online.
