Utica Rescue Mission brings supplies downstate
By WKTV News

NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (WKTV) - A van from the Utica Rescue Mission will head downstate early Saturday morning full of supplies for those affected by Hurricane Sandy.

Executive Director Reverend Bill Dodge says they got word that Wal-mart wanted to donate supplies, so they offered up their van and time.

"We've got a whole array of things like personal care items like socks and soup and water and flashlights and gas cans that the folks have needed down there and we decided we can take them down ourselves," said Dodge.

The Rescue Mission of Utica is taking these items directly to rescue missions in Newark, New Jersey and New York City.

They did a similar event for Hurricane Katrina.
