WHITESBORO, N.Y. (WKTV) - When the curtain goes up at the Stanley on Tuesday night, audience members can keep a look out for a familiar face, as a Whitesboro native is a part of the touring company.

Mark Poppleton plays the father of Wednesday Addams' love interest; in his words, he plays a "normal" person.

Poppleton said he is excited to see his family or more importantly, his family gets to see him.

Utica is only the third stop on the Addams Family tour and then it's on the road for 18 months.

"I love it. It's really fun touring because you get to see all the different cities, all the different states. It's great. I loved it. It's international. We will be going to Singapore and Utica," he laughed.

Poppleton went to the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City after high school.

The Addams Family takes to the Stanley stage Tuesday and Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m.
