World-reknowned speaker is keynote at Parkinson's Walk

NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (WKTV) - The 10th annual Parkinson's Awareness Walk took place in New Hartford on Saturday.

Hundreds were on the campus of Presbyterian Homes and Services on Middle Settlement Road.

There were plenty of activities for the kids after the walk, including clowns from Shriner's, face painting and even a trip aboard the Utica Zoomobile.

Giving the keynote address was nationally-renowned motivational speaker John Baumann. He said, "I was diagnosed ten years ago with Parkinson's at 41 years old. It stunned me. It shocked me. I thought my life was over. I ended up writing a book called "12 Action Steps to Success."

Money raised will be used to further Parkinson's research.
