New veterans housing facility opens its doors in Utica

By WKTV News

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Local veterans without a home now have a new place to stay.

A brand new supportive housing facility opened its doors in Utica on Thursday at 6 Steuben Street. The goal of "Peter Young Housing" is to provide a clean, therapeutic environment for veterans to get back on their feet.

It is also designed to help the veterans battle homelessness, joblessness, and addiction.

"To get them back," Peter Young of Peter Young Housing said. "To get them esteem where they can feel good about their entire life and feel they've dedicated themselves to the country...and have an attitude of gratitude, so we can do something for those who have served our country."

Peter Young Housing has 118 locations in New York State from Buffalo to Brooklyn.
