Lamica wins Ilion mayor's race

Republican Brian Lamica defeated Democrat Bridget Trevor-McKinley Tuesday.

ILION - There will be a new mayor in the village of Ilion.

Republican Brian Lamica defeated Democrat Bridget Trevor-McKinley Tuesday in a race to decide who will succeed Terry Leonard as mayor. Leonard did not run for reelection.

Lamica, a retired Ilion policed officer and employee of the Rome City School District, received 403 votes. Trevor-McKinley, a nurse practitioner and Ilion village trustee, received 330.
