UPDATE: Police have release more information on the multi-vehicle crash that occurred in Whitestown this morning.
Around 11:34 a.m., police responded to Judd Road at the intersection with Cider Street for a reported five-car crash, but police say once they arrived on scene they learned it was actually a four-car crash.
Police say Timothy Reilley of Rome was driving a 2014 GMC Van southbound on Judd Road when he drove through a red light. His vehicle collided with a 2013 Volkswagon SUV driven by Jutus Derx of Baldwinsville, who was traveling northeast on Cider Street toward Oriskany.
Derx sustained apparent internal injuries and was transported to a local hospital by COCVAC.
Police say after the initial collision, Reilley’s vehicle continued through the intersection and struck a 2014 Volkswagon car driven by Nancy Best of Blossvale, which was stopped at the intersection on Judd Road, waiting to continue northwest.
Best’s vehicle was forced backwards by the collision and struck a 2017 Jeep SUV driven by Heather Decker of Sauquoit. Police say Best sustained several injuries and she was transported to a local hospital by COCVAC. Decker was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Police say based on the investigation at the scene and statements from witnesses, Reilley was issued a traffic citation for failure to stop at a red light. He’s scheduled to return to Whitestown court at a later date.
