A Herkimer man is facing charges following a month-long investigation into an alleged incident involving a child, according to the Herkimer Police Department.

Kenneth Wilcox, 39, was arrested November 8 and charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

Police say the arrest followed a month-long investigation into inappropriate conduct with a female child under 16 years old. Wilcox allegedly asked the female to perform a sexual act in his presence, which she refused to do, according to police.

Wilcox was arraigned and sent to the Herkimer County Jail on $4,000 cash bail or $8,000 bond. He’s scheduled to reappear in Herkimer court at a later date.
