Local youth robotics team headed to World Championship in Detroit

A local robotics team based in Clayville is headed to the World Championship after an impressive finish in the qualifying matches this past weekend.

A local robotics team based in Clayville is headed to the World Championship after an impressive finish in the qualifying robot matches at the Eastern U.S. Tournament this past weekend in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

The Geared Up FTC 6347 team finished in fifth place out of 36, and they also won an award for creating the best promotional video about the international FIRST youth robotics organization their team represents. FIRST stands for, “For Inspiration and Recognition of Science & Technology.”

Geared Up FTC 6347, which is made up of students in grades five through twelve, will now be headed to the World Championship in Detroit in April.
