Man caught on video stealing from Rome Walmart

Authorities are asking for the public’s help to identify a man who was caught on camera stealing items from a store in Rome earlier this week.

ROME - Authorities are asking for the public’s help to identify a man who was caught on camera stealing items from a store in Rome earlier this week.

According to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, the theft occurred at the Walmart in Rome on May 7 at about 7 a.m.

Deputies said a man was caught on surveillance video leaving the store with numerous stolen items in a Walmart shopping cart.

The man then ran from the parking lot heading east into the city of Rome.

He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with an American flag printed on the front, camouflage cargo-style shorts, sneakers, a baseball cap, carrying two backpacks.
