Staff Preparing For A Visit From Laura Bush (Updated 6:05 pm)

By Nate Crossett

As we announced a few weeks back, first lady Laura Bush will be making a stop in Utica on Tuesday-- campaigning for Congressional hopeful Ray Meier. In preparation for the visit, some of her staff are already at the Hotel Utica, making all the necessary security arrangements.

Similar to the Cheney visit, the secret service have been in Utica for more than a week, preparing and combing through the Hotel Utica. Hotel staff say, this visit, unlike the one Vice President Dick Cheney made a few months back, will be a little bit easier because of the smaller entourage. Staff say, it'll also be much easier because they've done it before.

A ticket for the fundraiser will cost $150. Photo opportunities are also available. They'll cost you $1,000.
