Congressional candidate Richard Hanna response to Palin as Republican VP pick

Congressional candidate Richard Hanna (R-C-I) on Friday praised Sen. John McCain for selecting Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his vice presidential running mate.

"Sarah Palin is the epitome of a true public servant: she's tackled corruption, investigated state officials for ethics violations and has not been afraid to challenge the same old politics-as-usual," Richard Hanna said. "I fully support Sarah Palin, not because she is a woman, but because she is a leader who can reform Washington."

Richard Hanna has long supported empowering women and encouraging them to fulfill their dreams:

In cooperation with the Women's Fund, he founded Annie's Fund to help women make positive changes at critical points in their lives. To date, Annie's Fund has made more than 128 grants.

The YWCA of the Mohawk Valley honored him for 25 years of "being a champion of women."

"Sarah Palin is a woman who has proven to be a leader at the executive level of state government, on the athletic field growing up and most importantly, as a proud wife and mother of five children," Richard Hanna said. "She fights corruption, will say no to special interests and has rejected wasteful earmark spending. We need Gov. Palin as vice president of the United States."

Like Richard Hanna, Gov. Palin supports offshore drilling to help address our energy crisis - while being aware of environmental concerns, is a member of the National Rifle Association, a pilot and enjoys the outdoors.
