ILION, N.Y. (WKTV) - Democrat Don Barber is looking to unseat Republican Senator James Seward in the 51st District.
Barber spent Thursday making the rounds through Ilion, listening to people's concerns and telling them how he plans to address them.
Don Barber is a life-long farmer and 6 term town Supervisor in Chenango County.
Meantime Don Barber's opponent, incumbent Senator James Seward has picked up endorsements from Herkimer County Republican leaders as well as some democrats.
Frankfort's Mayor, Frank Moracco is endorsing Seward. The same goes for Herkimer Mayor Mark Ainsworth who is also a Democrat.
Seward picked up endorsements from several fellow Republican leaders in Herkimer County as well.
