UNITED STATES (WKTV) - Democrat Barack Obama has been elected as the forty-fourth President of the United States. He will become the first African American President in United States history. He is a 47-year-old first term senator from Illinois. Obama passed the 270 necessary electoral votes at around 11:00 PM according to NBC News Projections.
John McCain has conceded the race in a call to the president-elect Obama at around 11:00 PM Tuesday. Obama thanked John McCain for his “class and honor” throughout this race.
