The Contest:
The contestants must guess the average high temperature for the Utica/Rome area for the month of May, 2008 (5/1/2008 – 5/31/2008) as calculated by the daily official high temperature readings recorded by the National Weather Service at the Oneida County Airport, Griffiss Park, Rome, N.Y. Guesses must be given in whole numbers, no decimal numbers. In calculating the official, contest winning the average high temperature for the Utica/Rome area for the month of May, 2008, WKTV will calculate .4 and less by rounding down to the nearest degree and .5 and greater by rounding up to the nearest degree. In case of multiple entries with the correct temperature, a random drawing of all of the correct entries will be held. The drawing, if needed, will be held on Friday, June 6, 2008. The odds of winning depend on the number of correct entries received. The first entry drawn will be awarded the 2nd Place Prize. The second entry drawn will be awarded the Grand Prize. The odds of winning depend on the number of correct entries received.

Entry:
No purchase necessary. Contestants may enter on-line by filling out the electronic form on the NewsChannel 2 website, www.wktv.com.
Contestants may also enter through the mail by writing, on a standard post card, their name, address, phone number, age and their guess for the correct average temperature.

Contestants may submit only one (1) entry per household per day, violations of this policy will be disqualified.

Deadlines:
The deadline for entries submitted by mail is a postmark of May 26, 2008. The deadline for entries submitted on the internet, via www.wktv.com, is 11:59PM, May 26, 2008.

Prizes:
Grand Prize: Two Frigidaire Room Air Conditioners (12,000 BTU), MSRP - $671 each. 2nd Place Prize: One Frigidaire Room Air Conditioner (10,000 BTU), MSRP - $310. Only one (1) Grand Prize will be awarded and one (1) 2nd Place Prize will be awarded.

Eligibility:
Contestants must be legal U.S. residents and 18 years or older. Employees of WKTV, Smith Media License Holdings, LLC, Kalex Energy and their immediate families are not eligible to enter or win.

Conditions:
Winners are responsible for payment of all federal, state and local taxes on the prize and for any other expenses not specified herein, and relating to the acceptance and use of their prize. Winners may be required to sign an IRS Form W-9 or equivalent.
By participating in the contest, the winners agree to have their name, voice or likeness used in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to this contest without additional financial or other compensation, and to sign a publicity release prior to acceptance of the prize.

The winners will agree to hold WKTV, its corporate licensee, Smith Media License Holding, LLC, its corporate parent, affiliated companies and the officers, shareholders, directors, employees, agents and representatives of each of them, Kalex Energy, affiliated companies and the officers, shareholders, directors, employees, agents and representatives of each of them, harmless against any and all claims or liability arising directly or indirectly from the prize or participation in the contest.

Neither WKTV, its corporate licensee, Smith Media License Holding, LLC, its corporate parent, affiliated companies and the officers, shareholders, directors, employees, agents and representatives of each of them, Kalex Energy, affiliated companies and the officers, shareholders, directors, employees, agents and representatives of each of them are responsible for printing or typographical errors in any contest related materials or for stolen, lost, late, misdirected, damaged, incomplete, illegible or postage-due mail or entries.
WKTV, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person tampering with the entry process, the operation of the WKTV Web Site or who is otherwise in violation of the rules. The station further reserves the right to cancel, terminate or modify the contest if it is not capable of completion as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention or technical failures of any sort.

Failure to comply with the contest rules may result in a contestant’s disqualification at the sole discretion of WKTV.
WKTV reserves the right to make changes in the rules of the contest, including the substitution of a prize of equivalent value, which will become effective upon announcement.
