Get your score at the Health Assessment Station

Story Updated: Mar 1, 2013

One of the many things you'll find at the 2013 Heart Expo in the Utica College Gymnasium is a Health Assessment Station, where you can get checked out for free.

Whether it be cholesterol, diabetes, body mass index, to a full lipid profile, it can be done right on site at the Heart Expo.

Tom Norton, the Director of Cardiology for St. Elizabeth Medical Center said the screenings are all about knowing your numbers. The results from the free screenings can then be used to see where you stand, and sometimes, lead to a follow-up appointment.

"About half the time, someone has a concern that they want to follow up with a cardiologist or a physician, have a score," Norton said. "Having the numbers that actually prove what we need to do, that's a little more telling."

You have to wait about half an hour for the results, but there is so much to look at throughout the Expo that time flies.
