Renowned expert on autism and Asperger's speaks at Turning Stone

VERONA, N.Y. (WKTV) - He's known around the globe for his work with autistic patients, and on Monday, Dr. Tony Attwood spoke to members of three area Arc chapters at the Turning Stone Casino Conference Center.

Dr. Attwood has worked with several thousand patients with autism and Asperger's Syndrome. He presents workshops and training courses for parents and professionals worldwide.

"Asperger's and autism certainly has become an area of interest for many many families and many providers, and many advocates throughout all of the United States and the world at this point," said Kevin Crosley, Executive Director of the Herkimer Arc.

More than 600 people gathered to watch Dr. Attwood's presentation.

More than 300,000 copies of his book on Asperger's have been sold worldwide.
