SUNY Oneonta students head back to dorm after fire

ONEONTA N.Y. (WKTV) - Most of the students at SUNY Oneonta who were forced out of their dorm due to a fire moved back into Matteson Hall Friday.

More than 150 students were displaced from the fire that happened more than a week ago.

Some had to stay in a hotel while crews fixed up the dorm.

“Matteson Hall students are officially out of the Holiday Inn,” Director of Residential Community Life Michele Luettger said. “I was just at the residence hall, and they are all smiles.”

The fire happened on the third floor of the building and that floor is still closed off.
