Utica Police Officer pulls employees out of burning building

Sargeant Steve Hauck of the Utica Police Department pulled two employees out of the F.X. Matt Brewery as flames were engulfing a major portion of the facility. The officer, however, had praise only for the employees he rescued.

"I told the Matts earlier that the employees should be commended." said Sgt. Hauck, adding that the two handled the situation to the best of their ability.

The two employees were taken to Saint Elizabeth Medical Center for smoke inhalation and are said to be in satisfactory condition.
