PHONE INTERVIEW: Former principal speaks on academic effors of Janine Walker


SCHUYLER, N.Y. (WKTV) - A local art teacher has died after being seriously injured in a car-motorcycle accident that happened around 5:30pm Friday.

Janine Walker of Newport died after sustaining head injuries. She was the high school art teacher at Poland High School.

Saturday, NEWSChannel 2's Andrew Donovan spoke to Janine Walker's former boss, former high school principal Jon Speich. He said, "Janine throughout her career as high school art teach was a very strong advocate for the arts program in school."

"She was responsible for recommending and for expanding the art opportunities for our high school students. Just a very fine young lady and a great teacher."
