* Students at a local college mourned the loss of a freshman student and football player who died last weekend.

* An early Sunday morning fire destroys a Utica building on Herkimer Road.

* A Little Falls man faces serious charges after being arrested for allegedly beating a dog to death.

* The Clinton teenager accused of killing his grandfather was indicted and officialy charged this week with murder.

* The man charged with setting a building on fire in the 400 block of Columbia Street in January was in Utica City Court.

* And in a very unexpected turn of events, a teen plead guilty this week in regards to his involvement in the assault of a Utica Police Officer.

* Utica Police responded to a call of shots fired shortly after 10 p.m. on Feb 11 ... and ended up making a seperate arrest.

* And all bets were...back on...as Vernon Downs re-opened this week after closing just days earlier.
