Local woman celebrates her 100th birthday

By SUSAN CAMPBELL

HERKIMER - Celebrating 100 years! Meet one woman who has lived through both World Wars, The Great Depression and now, her 100th birthday.

Friday is a big day for Tina Costanzo. It's her 100th birthday!

I just can't believe I'm so old!" she says.

To put things into perspective, the year Tina was born was the year that Henry Ford introduced the first Model-T car, that was back in 1908. Over the past 100 years, Tina has had a lifetime full of memories and the pictures to prove it. Forget about eating healthy food and staying active, Tina says the secret to her long life is simple.

"How did you get to be 100?"
"Minding my business," she said.

Tina's granddaughter, also named Tina, has another theory.

"She's very religious. She has to be let into heaven, and I think God thinks she's going to take over. I think that's why she's still here, because she's going to take heaven over and God's not ready for that yet," her granddaughter said.

Just in case you're wondering what a 100 year old wants for her birthday, well, it's clothes, of course!
