Frequently Asked Questions

What size circuit breaker do I need?
Volts x Amps = Watts: The amperage of the circuit determines the size of the breaker. For example, a 1500-watt space heater uses 12.5 amps. The breaker amps must be higher than the calculated amps to properly protect. This example would be protected by a 15 amp breaker as 15 is higher than 12.5.
How do I fix my dripping faucet?
An internal part is failing. First, shut off the water supply. Note any brand name markings and begin to disassemble the faucet, keeping in mind the order of the parts for replacement and reassembly. Observe what opens and closes the passage of water. This is where the problem is. Failed parts are replaceable (washers, ceramic disc, cartridge or seats and springs). Once you have what you need, flush line and reassemble in reverse order.
How do I clean my Trex deck?
Periodic cleaning of your deck, even if it appears clean, is important to prevent the build-up of pollen/debris that can cause mold.

Dirt and Debris - Use soap, hot water and a stiff bristle brush.
Mold - Use conventional deck washes or cleaners that contain sodium hypochlorite (bleach) and detergent. Treat with PSC Composite DeckAfterKlean or Anti-Growth to delay re-growth.
Good paint is more expensive, why should I use it?
Good quality paint covers the surface and hides better in fewer coats, washes easier, covers a larger area, lasts longer and looks better than cheaper paints. Simply put, with paint, you pay for what you get.
What type of fastener should be used on treated lumber?
Hot Dipped Galvanized or Stainless Steel fasteners are recommended. There is a middle area between Hot Dipped Galvanized and Stainless fasteners where the newer, state-of-the-art, epoxy and ceramic coated screws fit into. Note* All plated metals may experience corrosion over a period of time. Stainless steel is the only fastener material available that will prevent corrosion in most applications.
