(WKTV) - As election results came in, Oneida County Election officials sent workers out to deal with minor problems throughout the district, including some in Whitesboro, Sherrill, New York Mills and throughout Utica.

One district though saw things go quite smoothly and that was Marcy. The county was testing the pilot program with the electronic voting machines that will be used state-wide next year.

County election officials say if Election Night is any indication, they're looking forward to a really smooth election year next year, ""it's going to be a learning process again it's something that's new. The feedback in Marcy from what I've heard from the inspectors is that everything went well and I think once people get used to the system, it'll be fine," says Kathleen Perez of The Oneida County Board of Elections.

Both Oneida County Election Commissioners say the key next year will be voter education. Getting voters familiarized with the new electronic machines before election day.
