Police: Man accused of choking, biting and punching woman in domestic dispute

(WKTV) - A domestic dispute lead to multiple charges and an arrest in Chadwicks, Monday morning.

Carl D. Hensley, 33, was arrested and charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, one count of criminal obstruction of breathing, third-degree assault and second degree harassment.

New Hartford Police responded to a home on Elm Street at around 8 a.m. They said Hensley, while under the influence of alcohol, allegedly smashed the victim's face into the apartment door, pulled her by her hair, swung her around and threw her into walls in front of two children. Also, police say he took her into a bedroom where he choked her.

Additionally, police said Hensley allegedly bit the victim and punched her in the face all while the children were watching.

Hensley fled the scene before police arrived and was found hiding in the brush behind the friend's house.

Hensley was arraigned at the Town of New Hartford Court and is in Oneida County Jail.
