City reports a record number of UPD applications

UITCA, N.Y. (WKTV)- The city of Utica is reporting that a record number of applicants signed up to take the test to become a Utica police officer.

The city received 508 applications. Police chief Mark Williams said they didn't have money in the budget to advertise, so instead they used social media and worked with community organizations to get the word out.
