Baseball Hall Of Fame Inducts Newest Members

Today, The National Baseball Hall Of Fame inducted its two newest members, Cal Ripken Jr. and Tony Gwynn. Nearly 50,000 people turned out at Clark Sports Center for what could have been the largest ceremony in recent memory.

Ripken made his career with the Baltimore Orioles in 198 and remained there until his retirement. Among his accomplishments was shattering Lou Gehrig's consecutive games played record in September of 1995.

Tony Gwynn also got his start in 1981 with the San Diego Padres.His skill with a bat earned him eight batting titles and he made 15 all-star teams.

Both athletes expressed their gratitude to their fans and colleagues.
