MARCY, N.Y. (WKTV)-State police in Marcy say two women are under arrest after tampering with evidence and possessing stolen property.

The investigation spanned across six different counties in Central New York.

Authorities say Nancy Stewart, 59, of Westmoreland, had stolen property when she tried to sell it at a pawn shop in Utica. The stolen property was given to Stewart by Tanya Stisi, 29, of Rome.

Stewart also worked with a relative to remove conceal and dispose of evidence regarding a recent burglary.

Stisi allegedly was then paid to dispose of the evidence.

Stewart faces one count of conspiracy, tampering with physical evidence, and providing a false written statement. Stisi is facing two counts of tampering with physical evidence and one count of criminal possession of stolen property
