Congenital amputee ends trek along Erie Canal

TONAWANDA, N.Y. (AP) - A motivational speaker who was born without full arms and legs has wrapped up a 365-mile bicycle trek along the Erie Canal with an event in Albany.

John Robinson is the founder of an advocacy group called Our Ability. He says he wanted to show others what people with disabilities can accomplish, as well as raise funds to support adaptive sports, education and employment for all New Yorkers with disabilities.

Robinson began his trip Tonawanda, north of Buffalo, and was greeted by officials at the Corning Preserve in Albany Monday afternoon.

He and members of his group biked, boated, ran and walked the Erie Canal and Canalway Trail.
