Emergency crews battle blaze on Trenton Falls Road

By ALLISON NORLIAN

TRENTON FALLS, NY. (WKTV) - Firefighters battled heavy smoke and flames at a fire on 8491 Trenton Falls Road early Monday evening.

The call came in just after 5 p.m.

Fire fighters from Barneveld, Remsen, and Stittville were on the scene as well as crews from National Grid. The fire crew's were able to overtake the fire and put it out quickly.

The trailer fire, which happens to be in The Village of Prospect territory did not burn to the ground.

Chief Brian Healey, of the Barneveld Fire Department said the mobile home is not livable, and fighting these types of fires is much different then a house fire, " It's a little bit unique compared to houses. It's tight quarters. When we get in there, our guys did a great job getting in through the front door and knocking it down quick and we spent more time checking exposure and getting smoke out of the building than we did fighting fires. They did a great job with it."

The origin of the fire is currently under investigation.

No one was inside the structure, or injured.
