Police use spike strips to stop Thruway chase

SCHUYLER, N.Y. (WKTV) - A domestic dispute in Rome ended in Schuyler with a crash and police chase on the Thruway.

22-year-old Joshua Morgan was involved in the dispute at a residence on West Thomas Street, but left before police arrived.

As officers were interviewing others involved, Morgan allegedly drove past the house again in an unsafe manner, squealing his tires.

Police say they tried to stop him at that point, but then he took off.

Police chased after him as he went from Thomas Street in Rome to Madison Street to Erie Boulevard to Route 365 before getting on the Thruway in Verona, east-bound.

New York State Police attempted to use spike strips several times before stopping Morgan in Schuyler and taking him into custody.
