Meeting about the UPD Facebook deactivation set for tomorrow

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The two Utica Common Council members leading the call to reinstate the Utica Police Department's Facebook page plan to introduce a resolution to make it happen.

Both councilman Jim Zecca (D) and Frank vescera (D) announced, Monday night, they plan to take formal action.

A public meeting has been scheduled at 7 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall at which point they plan to present a resolution urging for the reinstatement of the page.

Last week the department deactivated the page due to increasing pressure from local and state leaders who felt it put the city in a bad light.
