Norwich man faces several charges after leading police on a foot chase

NORWICH, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Norwich man was arrested after an incident that involved a foot chase Thursday night.

Authorities said they were conducting an investigation at the Norwich Motor Lodge when 32-year-old Shane Manwarren shoved a police officer, resisted arrested and damaged a patrol car.

Police also said that he lead them on a foot-chase trying to dispose of heroin, prescription drugs and a hypodermic needle.

Manwarren has been charged with two counts of second degree harassment, resisting arrest, seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument, third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence and fourth degree criminal mischief.

He is set to appear in the Town of Norwich Court at at later date.
