Several local leaders honored by Leadership Mohawk Valley

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV)- The 12th Annual Follow the Leader Award Ceremony took place at the Radisson Hotel in Utica Wednesday night.

Eight people and two organizations were honored during the ceremony hosted by Leadership Mohawk Valley.

Organizers said the group was honored for the leadership they exhibit both within their organizations and in their communities.

"There's a wide array of experience with the leaders that we're honoring to night," said Ann Rushllo, executive director of Leadership Mohawk Valley. "It's really about taking that Mohawk Valley Leadership experience that they all have and using it to move the Mohawk Valley forward."

The follow people and organizations were honored:

Christian Mercurio, City of Rome

Tom Neumann, First Source Federal Credit Union

Fritz Scherz, Verona Town Board & Fritz's Polka Band

Janet Tamburrino, Utica College

Amy Weakley, Rome Memorial Hospital

Faxton St. Luke's Health Care and Rome Memorial Hospital
