St. Mary of Mt. Carmel 'Feast' draws in big crowd

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Perfect weather Saturday night made for a huge turnout for one of Utica's summer traditions.  The St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Feast is held on the grounds of the historic church in Utica every July.

Organizers say Friday night was not that busy because of the 90 degree temperatures and high humidity, much like we've seen for the past week, but Saturday night was as busy as the festival has ever been.

The pizza frite line was once again back out to the street.

Former Utica Mayor David Roefaro and his wife never miss this event, "We see everybody you know.  People you haven't seen in years.  That's what this is about.  It's about camaraderie, keeping the traditions alive."

The feast continues on Sunday from 1:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the church grounds on Jay St..
